Mr. Tripple: Straight Trippin’

By: Mitch Renbarger

I introduce to you the infamous Mr. Tripple. Mr. Tripple has been at Covenant for 3 years now, and he has quickly become one of the favorites among students at Covenant. He teaches Geography, World History, AP World History, Middle Ages, and World Religions. If you’re coming into the school as a freshman this year, you will inevitably have Mr. Tripple teaching your World History class at some point, which isn’t a bad thing at all. Everyone enjoys Mr. Tripple’s classes for his great character and the love he shows for every class he teaches.

Mr. Tripple enjoys using his time outside of school being with his family, and he is highly involved with his church. He teaches several classes at church on top of his school classes. He also leads a small group and he and his wife both are in worship team. When Tripple has time away from school, church, and family, he enjoys running or reading a book. Mr. Tripple also leads a men’s group at school called Mangrove, which takes place during lunch on Tuesdays here at school. With all of the activities that he’s involved in, you can tell that he loves people and is here to help in school and outside of school.

Mr. Tripple has 4 boys in his family, consisting of an 8, 6, 4, and 2 year old. He and his wife take care of all 4 of their kids with a dog (who’s a boy) as well. Mr. Tripple has also given some advice for students here at Covenant saying, “A way to help students would be to maximize what you get out of SRT time, which I often see being underused by students. Use SRT to ask questions, do work, and help yourself move forward in your academic journey.”

Mr. Tripple is a great teacher and he also says his favorite restaurant is Chipotle, so that’s all the more reason everyone should love him. His favorite scripture is Psalm 115:1, “Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” He says this verse “helps me keep a right perspective of why I’m doing what I’m doing, that it’s for God’s glory not mine.” He also adds on Romans 5:8, emphasizing on the fact that “God sent his Son to die for us and that we’re enemies of God and he still sent His Son, therefore all glory goes to Him.”

Mr. Tripple is a great teacher and a genuine person. Make sure you get to know him because I can guarantee you that he wants to get to know you. Mr. Tripple is someone who cares for all of his students and he is here to help everyone in any way he can. His character and love for others has put him at the top of the list in favorite teachers for many students here at Covenant, so don’t miss out on your chance to get to know one of the many great teachers at Covenant.
