Covenant Christian High School (Indianapolis) seeks a committed Christian educator to fill a full-time World History/Geography position beginning fall semester 2019. Candidates shall be highly organized and capable of implementing historical perspectives in a creative and effective way within the framework of a biblical Christian worldview. Candidates should be able to work closely with other staff, especially our Social Studies Department faculty and the administration. The successful candidate will be able to engage, nurture, and help students acclimate to the rigors of our college-prep curriculum. Additionally, as a Christian educator, it is imperative to be able to work closely with parents to collaborate on the intellectual and spiritual development of their student(s).
Candidates should be passionate about social studies, especially world history and geography, and should clearly show a desire to share that love with a diverse group of teenage students. They should also possess an interest and ability to teach non-traditional social studies electives. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social studies is required, and an education track is preferred. Must hold a valid Indiana teacher license and be able to pursue an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) teaching certificate. Ideal applicants will be able to teach using both online and traditional methods and have global perspectives developed through diverse studies (i.e., camps, seminars, study abroad). A desire to explore other topics in social studies and related fields with students via electives or during January term is also encouraged.
