FACILITIES TEAM – CUSTODIAL

Covenant Christian High School (Indianapolis) is seeking a committed Christian individual to fill a part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per week, early evenings) custodial position immediately.

Candidates need to be self-motivated and detail-oriented, and able to work independently or alongside other team members as tasks are determined and assigned.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Trash removal from classrooms and other common areas
  • Vacuuming in classrooms and hallways
  • Cleaning administrative offices and restrooms
  • Sanitizing classrooms, weight room equipment and general cleaning
  • Assist with lunch program as-needed

*May also include setting up and tearing down for events scheduled.
*Must be able to do physical lifting and moving objects.

FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT – MUSIC

Covenant Christian High School (Indianapolis) seeks a committed Christian educator to fill a full-time Music position beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.  

Candidates should be passionate about choral and instrumental music and clearly show a desire to share that love with a diverse group of students in Chamber Chorus, Treble Ensemble, Concert Choir, and electives such as Music Theory and Music Appreciation. This position may also include Band. 

Candidates shall be highly organized and capable of implementing program ideas in creative and effective ways.  Candidates should be able to work closely with other staff, especially our faculty, Academic Dean, Fine Arts Department Head, and Academic Advisors. The successful candidate will be able to engage, nurture, and help students acclimate to the rigors of high school. It is also imperative to be able to work closely with parents, especially those who have a student in high school for the first time, as well as the volunteers who help make music performances a reality. 

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in music with an education track is preferred.  Must hold a valid Indiana teacher’s license and be willing to pursue an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teaching certificate. Ideal applicants will be equipped to teach using both online and traditional methods and have global perspectives developed through study abroad.

MATH DEPARTMENT – TRIGONOMETRY, PRECALCULUS, AND (AP) STATISTICS

Covenant Christian High School (Indianapolis) seeks a committed Christian educator to fill a full-time position to teach advanced math courses (Trigonometry, Precalculus, and (AP) Statistics) beginning in the fall of the 2021-2022 school year.

Candidates will be highly relational, organized, capable of teaching according to our well-developed Math Program and within the framework of a biblical Christian worldview.

Candidates should be passionate about mathematics and clearly show a desire to share that love with a diverse group of teenage students. Candidates should be able to encourage struggling learners while at the same time holding them accountable for doing the work necessary to succeed. Experience with technology used in the math classroom (Smartboard and graphing calculators), and online math resources and learning management systems is ideal.

Candidates shall be highly organized and capable of implementing program ideas in creative and effective ways.  Candidates should be able to work closely with other staff, especially our faculty, Academic Dean, Mathematics Department, and our Academic Advisors. Additionally, as a Christian educator, it is imperative to be able to work closely with parents, especially those who have a student in high school for the first time. 

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics is required, and an education track is preferred. Candidates equipped to also teach science courses are ideal. Must hold a valid Indiana teacher license and either hold or be prepared to pursue an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) teaching certificate.  Ideal applicants will be able to teach using both online and traditional methods and be dedicated to continual growth in both knowledge of mathematics and in the practice of teaching mathematics.

Candidates should apply by February 26 , 2021 and be available to begin some in-class training in the latter part of the Spring.
