Classes begin at 8:30am. Students are welcome in the supervised Commons starting at 6:30am. The school day ends between 2:40pm and 3:30pm depending on the day's schedule. Teacher office hours run 3:30–4:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Students not in an after-school activity should report to the Commons by 4:00pm. The Commons is supervised until 5:30pm. A late pickup charge of $10 per 15-minute increment applies after 5:30pm.
Yes. Covenant uses a rotating schedule that varies by day of the week. Each day has a different period order, which spreads out how often students see each class and prevents any one subject from always falling at the same time. Wednesdays include an SRT (Student Resource Time) period for mentorship, clubs, and student-teacher connection.

Students who miss more than 10 days in a semester in any class may have their credit for that course reviewed. Absences are recorded as excused or unexcused. Excused absences include illness, family emergencies, appointments that can't be scheduled outside school hours (with a provider note), and approved college visits.
Freshmen and sophomores are allowed up to 2 college visit days per year; juniors and seniors up to 3. Family vacations and mission trips, while celebrated, are not counted as excused absences under Indiana DOE reporting requirements.
Each student is allowed 6 tardies per semester without penalty. The 7th tardy results in a detention. A continued pattern of tardiness can lead to further consequences including Saturday School or suspension. Arriving more than 15 minutes late to any class is documented as a full-period absence.
If your student is late to school, they must sign in at the office and get a pass before entering class.
Students can bring their own lunch or order through Schoolhouse Fare, an online catering service Covenant partners with. Students may not use outside delivery services like DoorDash or Uber Eats on campus.
Lunch is eaten in designated areas. Students may take lunch outside to the front of the building, where adult supervision is present.
Covenant takes academic integrity seriously. Submitting an assignment is a claim that it represents the student's own work and genuine understanding. This includes AI-generated material. Using AI tools to complete assignments without teacher authorization is treated as unauthorized aid.
For underclassmen, a first infraction results in a zero on the assignment and additional training. For upperclassmen, a first infraction includes parent notification, a student-admin meeting, and a zero. A second infraction results in a zero for the semester. A third infraction may result in removal from school.
SRT stands for Student Resource Time. It appears on Wednesday and Thursday schedules as a structured period for mentorship, club meetings, student-teacher connection, and community building. It's one of the ways Covenant builds relationship into the fabric of the school day rather than treating it as an add-on.
J-Term is a two-week experiential learning block in January (January 4–15 for 2026-27) between semesters. Students choose from travel experiences, internships, service projects, and on-campus intensives. It's one of the most distinctive parts of a Covenant education, a chance to learn in a completely different mode.

Every student and staff member at Covenant belongs to one of eight Houses: Wheatley, Lewis, Bonhoeffer, Padilla, Sayers, Rutledge, Edwards, and L'Engle. Houses are cross-grade communities that put freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the same House together, built for belonging, mentorship, service, and friendly competition. Each House is named after a faithful Christian whose life reflects what it means to live for God's glory.
